Built by a contractor,
for contractors.

TaxFlow exists because tax season kept being a nightmare — and spreadsheets weren't cutting it.

Founder & Developer — TaxFlow · VG Technologies, LLC
Based in Philadelphia, PA. I run VonderLinden Group LLC, a general contracting business, and built TaxFlow because I kept spending entire weekends in April trying to piece together a year's worth of income from bank statements, random PDFs, and notes I'd written to myself in January.

I'm a developer by trade, not an accountant. TaxFlow isn't built by a tax firm — it's built by someone who actually lives the 1099 life and wanted a tool that matched how real freelancers and contractors actually work.

Why I built TaxFlow

Every year around March I'd open my laptop, stare at 12 months of bank statements, and try to remember what every transaction was for. Was that Amazon charge a business expense or something personal? Did I log that client payment? How much do I actually owe?

I tried spreadsheets. I tried QuickBooks. QuickBooks was built for businesses with employees and bookkeepers — not for a single contractor trying to figure out if their Zoom subscription is deductible. The learning curve and monthly cost weren't worth it for what I actually needed.

What I needed was something that could read my bank statements, automatically sort income from expenses, and tell me exactly what to hand my CPA. So I built it.

TaxFlow started as a personal tool. I shared it with a few other contractors and the response was the same every time: "I've been looking for exactly this." So I built it into a proper product — with bank connectivity via Plaid, cloud backup, a desktop app, and everything else that makes it actually production-ready.

It's still built around the same idea: upload your statements, see your numbers, export a clean package for your CPA. No accountant required. No monthly bookkeeping. Just organized, all year long.

🏢 About the company

TaxFlow is owned and operated by VG Technologies, LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company formed specifically to develop and commercialize TaxFlow. VG Technologies is a subsidiary of VonderLinden Holdings, LLC. The general contracting business (VonderLinden Group LLC) is a separate entity and is not involved in TaxFlow's operations.
