Based in Philadelphia, PA. I've been self-employed for years, and like a lot of contractors and freelancers, I spent too many Q4s digging through bank statements trying to figure out what I owed. The tools that existed were either too expensive, too complicated, or just built for a different kind of business owner. TaxFlow is what I wished had existed.
Legal entities: TaxFlow is a product of VG Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of VonderLinden Holdings LLC. VonderLinden Group LLC (general contracting) is a separate entity under the same parent holding company and is not affiliated with TaxFlow or VG Technologies.
Why TaxFlow exists
Most tax software is built around the assumption that you have an accountant, a bookkeeper, or at least a clear idea of what you're doing. If you're a freelancer, a 1099 contractor, or a one-person LLC, you probably have neither — you have a pile of statements and a deadline.
TaxFlow was designed to solve one specific problem: getting your records organized so you can hand them to a CPA or file your own taxes without spending a weekend on it. That's it. No upsells for features you don't need. No filing product that costs $200/year. No data sold to advertisers.
Every design decision comes back to the same questions: does this make it faster to process a statement? Does this help a freelancer find their deductions without expertise? Does this protect the user's financial data?
